Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Errachidia – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga
Departure from your accommodation in Fez at 8 in the morning for a private desert trip from Fez to Merzouga; our first stop will be in the city of Ifran the charming ski resort, and then continue to Azrou, where we will stop in the middle of the mountains and the cedar forest of the Middle Atlas to meet the wild Barbary apes Macaques. After continue driving to Midelt where we will stop to have lunch in a local restaurant, and then, head towards Merzouga desert through the high Atlas crossing the col of tizi n tlghoumt and the Ziz valley dotted with date palms, the biggest palm oasis in Morocco over 181 KM, after a stop for photos we will continue towards Errachidia and Erfoud the region of dates and fossils; arrival at the Erg Chebbi sand dunes , relax and enjoy a mint tea then, we will take a camel ride to a Berber camp in the middle of the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, which are the highest dunes of North Africa. The camel trek takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach the camp. During the ride you will enjoy a beautiful sunset over the golden dunes. After dinner we will gather around the fire and enjoy the sound of traditional Berber drums under the stars.
